Resilient Bunch

By Nick Truman

The u15s travelled to thame this morning, and saw their kick off delayed as the game before went to extra time !

Not sure this had anything to do with what followed is unknown , but it was the same for both teams !
The Carterton boys were way of the pace and thame , with their direct style raced into a three nil lead in the first five minutes of the game .
Staring a thrashing in the face the yellows dig deep , goals from Harvey Nichol, Casey Groves, and a rasper from Jamie Staddon saw the half time whistle come with the teams level at three each .
A stern talking to at half time from Scott and mike seemed to have fallen on deaf ears as thame started the second half brightly and quickly go 4-3 up !
The rest of the half ebbed and flowed with chances for both teams , but with four minutes left and the boys facing their first league defeat since March 2017, regan Pritchard made a nuisance of himself in the box and was brought down by the keeper for a stonewall penalty, skipper Daniel lovick coolly slotting home the spot kick !
The boys pushed for a winner but sadly ran out of time .
It’s unusual for our normally rock solid defence to leak so many goals , but the lads proved to be a resilient bunch to fight out a draw !
