Dominant Carterton U17s thrash Thame Colts 11-0
By Philip Godfrey
Double Hat Trick from Striker Dylan Butler
After a Minutes silence held before the match to commemorate Remembrance Sunday Carterton started quickly with Dylan Butler
scoring 9 mins into the game . Thame defended deep in their own half but on 24 mins a goal mouth struggle gave a loose ball to Dylan Butler
to fire into the net. George Wright
was terrorising the Thame back four with his runs and on the 31st minute put a superb cross into the box for Dylan Butler
to head home. Another cross from the right this time from Marcus Owsnett
saw Dylan Butler
head home his fourth goal just before half time.
The second half saw Carterton switch to three at the back and add another player into midfield. This produced another goal in the 55th minute from Dylan Butler
who the Thame defence just couldn't contain. Sub Byron Townsend
came on returning from a long layoff with a broken foot injury. He went on to win the ball on the edge of the Thame penalty area and blasted a shot into the top right corner. Carterton were now passing the ball around nicely in total control and scored again with Dylan Butler
making his double hat trick on 75 mins. A tap in by Sam Hartley
in the 86th min and a thunderous shot by George Wright
in the dying moments of the game saw Carterton convincingly beat Thame 11-0.
